Snow Much Fun

2 days off school brought lots of snow fun!  Sledding, snow angels, snow ball fights, neighbors around to play.  I was sad to send the girls back to school today!

Cabin Christmas

After our wonderful few days at home we headed north for a few more wonderful days with Mom and Dad, and our Christmas celebration with them, at the cabin. Everyone was very excited to be reunited!

As usual, we were all showered with love and generosity.

Grandpa and Grandma got to come out for the day as well and we played some games.

Great Grandpa gave the girls these handmade planes which are so very neat and thoughtful.

There was good time for more outside fun.  Audrey was much more receptive to the snow than she'd been a few days earlier in Neenah.

There was also time for the project-ers to tackle some final touch trim work in the basement bedroom.

Hard work!

But voila!

We all really enjoyed the chance to be at the cabin again and spend special time with Mom and Dad/Amma and Bapa.  As was the theme of the whole trip, it was too short but we loved it!

Staycation

Staycation - a vacation where you stay home. Never before has this idea been so appealing as when you haven't been home in 4.5 months! We had a marvelous trip to WI last week full of (so much!) fun, friends, and family.

The trip started off with a bang for Natalie who was thrilled to get to ride on a plane. She asked to meet the pilot who was a woman on our first flight.  The pilot talked to her about getting into aviation and gave her a set of wings. Made this little girl's day.

We arrived home to a bounty of fresh, fluffy, perfect snow. We headed straight out to play.

We spent every moment we could with our many dear friends that we miss, well, dearly. The girls were unbelievably excited to be reunited with their playmates (just as I was with mine).  Good grief, kids can grow and change a lot in a few months!

 

 The time passed too quickly and we're back to missing our home and friends.  But we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you did for and with us last week.  We adore you and we'll see you again soon.

Recertification Course

Texas must've thought we needed a refresher in our snow skills so it gave us a dusting of snow through the night.

Don't carport roofs look much lovelier with a snow covering?

As I learned as a kid, if there's snow on the ground get out to play immediately! And we did. (Good thing because it's gone now an hour later.)  Natalie jumped right into "sledding."

Audrey wasn't as sure and settled on looking at the snow from the sidewalk and saying, "ohwy day!" After all, the last time she saw snow she wasn't walking.

But she perked right up when I made her a snow bun-nun (her request).

And Nat made a snowman. I think we found the one thing that isn't bigger in Texas.

OK, are we prepped for our trip home?  I hope so!  We'll find out soon!
