First day of K and 2

We had two very eager Shaull Sharks this morning.
First day of kindergarten!
 First day of 2nd grade!
Audrey ran onto the bus, no looking back.  No sniffles from Chris or me either. Both girls were so happy we were just happy for them.
Audrey cheerfully came off the bus saying, "It was great!!"  They colored pictures of how they got ready for kindergarten, played name games, told their favorite colors (she said gold), and had recess.  Pretty big girl.  When I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up she said, "the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker with toe shoes!!"
And now Nat is home too.  Another great day report!  She has several old friends in her class, made a couple new ones, went to art, finally got to use the biggest playground at recess, had pizza for lunch, played some of her favorite educational apps on the school's new iPads (Bookflix - how cute).  When she grows up she wants to be a doctor or a nurse.

We're thankful for our great school, encouraging teachers, and 2 girls who love learning!

Happy birthday, Chris!

Chris's birthday celebration was stretched out over a few days thanks to a busy end of summer.  But we had a nice birth week celebrating him!
Hope this next year is as amazing as you are, dear!

Destin 2016

After 3 years we finally made it back to Destin.  Love this place.
And love these folks!
Sun, sand, swimming, fun!

There was lots of diving as both girls are super swimmers now.
This year's trip included a new sport - beach gymnastics.
We had excellent seafood, of course. Natalie tried and loved raw oysters on saltines with cocktail sauce. Yep.
And Lolo taught the girls a new old game - pick up sticks.
Thanks, Mom and Dad, for meeting us and for another wonderful trip to the beach.  They hold such a special place in our hearts!
