I Got What I Wanted For My Birthday

Every year "what do you want for your birthday?" is harder to answer.  This year I gave the simple answer - time.  At this point it's the one thing we don't have enough of.  Normally we aren't all 4 together at any point on Wednesdays but yesterday God brought me a birthday snow storm which cancelled all of our usual activities.

The girls and I had the day home together inside the snow globe of our beautiful new home where they showered me with homemade gifts and a birthday puppet show.  We stayed in our pajamas, played board games, and watched a black and white movie. (Audrey: "They had color then, right?  Just not in film?")

Chris came home early and made me scallops and we broke in the salt block he got for Christmas.

I got thoughtful calls, texts, and Facebook messages from friends and family near and far.  My mom wrote and read me this year's heartfelt birthday poem.

We ended the day with, no surprise, fruit pizza which seemed to have a bit more smoke this time around. But each one of those candles represents a year full of love and people I hold dear right from the beginning and every year since.  Yesterday was a beautiful celebration of that and for it I'm so thankful.  Thank you, snow storm.

Presidents Day with the Presidents

In honor of the holiday and long weekend we took the girls to Philadelphia for the first time for the founding fathers tour.  Cheesesteaks too, of course, but those were gone too quickly to photograph. Both girls were attentive, interested, and perhaps overheard singing a Hamilton song or two.  Happy Presidents Day!

Flipping Good Start to the Season

Natalie is having a fantastic start to this year's gymnastics season!  She's had 2 meets so far and she and the Gymettes have placed highly in each.
Moskovitz meet in West Chester, PA.  She was particularly proud of "the first trophy I ever won for not just participating" for a 3rd place overall finish!
Xcel Games meet in Timonium, MD including a 1st place finish on bars and 4th overall
We love watching her defying gravity and having a blast.  Flip on!

Audrey's Big Week

Our Little Rose had a big week.  She's surely growing up and doing it gracefully.
