Delicious Things

Both girls have gotten some delicious treats in the last couple days.

Natalie loves to do, "dough with Ama!"

I got to feed Audrey a bottle at her mid-morning feeding today. Her feedings are being increased by 2 mL every 6 hours as long as she handles them well and digests everything which she is doing. (They can check this using her feeding tube.) This morning she was up to 20 mL (twice the volume she's been getting as recently as yesterday). As long as she keeps doing well her feedings will begin being fortified tomorrow (extra proteins and calories to help her grow quickly). She's getting each feeding by bottle for as long as she has the stamina to suck on the nipple. This morning she ate about 15 of the 20 mL and got the rest by tube. It was so nice to hold her and feed her like this! And afterwards was she sure tired. :)

Now Bring Us Some Figgy Pudding!

But what is figgy pudding even? And would it be good? It doesn't really sound very good so we made Christmas cookies instead while we were snowed indoors this weekend.

We made traditional Christmas favorites from each of our childhoods - chocolate covered pretzels with peppermint dust, peanut butter blossoms, and Innis Christmas cut-outs - and we were very excited to share the traditions with Natalie. With the amount of dough, chocolate, and frosting she got to eat I think she was glad we did!
