We took advantage of a 4 day weekend to make a 6 hour drive north to visit Niagara Falls for the first time for everyone except Chris. We camped which made the trip doubly fun. The camp site was right on Lake Ontario and we could see Toronto across the lake from our tent!
On Saturday we went to the falls. What an amazing place! We even broke out the passports and went to Canada.
We suckered lots of people to take lots of pictures of the 4 of us. The girls said, "You and your Christmas card photos!"
We also rode the Sky Wheel to see the falls from above.
Back in America we went to lunch at an Indian buffet. Yum. Then went to see the falls from ground level in the Cave of the Winds. We got wet!
On Sunday we pursued Chris's dream of dunking the girls in all 5 Great Lakes. We drove 45 minutes north of our camp site to Lake Erie and had a fun picnic on this little peninsula.
Then we dipped our toes and hunted cool rocks and shells.
After that we drove an hour about 20 minutes south of our camp site to a state park where we could get in Lake Ontario (the camp ground itself didn't allow it).
It was a bit chilly.
As usual, there were fun and shenanigans around camp.
It was a great trip to kick off our summer. Hope everyone else started theirs off with fun and family too!
