Camping Round II

We had a great time last week camping at Devil's Lake State Park near Wisconsin Dells with most of the clan. The cousins had a great time trying to look innocent:

Natalie & Calvin took some throwing lessons from Uncle Adam:

Natalie was also a big help guiding Dad through the hidden present hunt (we celebrated Adam's 25th birthday & Chris's 31st).

Saturday was spent cooling off at the lake, grilling a picnic lunch & taking a rowboat ride. Calvin's already staking out his authority:

Except when Mom's around, of course....

Uncle Adam & Aunt Rochelle made sure we didn't go hungry

And Natalie, Calvin & Audrey made sure the marshmallows & s'mores were safe to eat.

On Sunday we went for a hike to a nearby waterfall

Audrey set a grueling place (and left no puddle un-stomped).

Family bonding = no showers for 3 days!

If only they were always this cute together...

Thanks to everyone for a great trip - Erin even admitted that camping is cool! We look forward to next year - Sam & Ben, put it on the calendar!

Big Girl Bed

Little Miss A isn't so little anymore. The move to TX brought with it her move to a big girl bed. She's handling it all just fine!

What We've Been Up To

There's no very cohesive theme for this post, just a bunch of pictures of what we've been up to lately since my posting seems to have become sparse. Oops!

July was hot so we spent lots of time in the water trying to beat the heat.
We began the girls' backgammon training.
They practiced their puzzling skills. Audrey can do the 3 piece ones by herself.
Audrey took some quiet reading time to herself.
We spent a nice spur-of-the-moment weekend with Samantha before she heads east.
And the girls enjoyed their first airshow and trip around EAA Airventure where we got to check out lots of airplanes - even one of Papa Don's airframes. Natalie's remarks were, "When I'm a pilot I'm going to fly upside down and Mommy and Daddy are going to come watch." Yikes!
