The Big Spring apartment is set up and we're all settling in. The town isn't much to speak of but people are nice and we're really enjoying the family time. (Keep posted for a photo tour of Big Spring and the apartment coming to the blog soon. It'll be good for a laugh.)
4 days after arriving in Big Spring Erin and the girls left for Brenham to spend a week with Alexis, Holley, and Levi before their big move to Phoenix. Times were crazy with 4 little people running around but it was wonderful! Natalie and Holley were inseparable and are now counting the days til they're reunited at Thanksgiving. (Why were all of the kids naked so much? Not quite sure!)
Natalie REALLY loved riding Sugar, Papa Don's horse. Audrey, not so much.
And we got some special time with the Houston crew too.
From Brenham it was on to our annual Labor Day Holley-day week at the beach. Our dear friends, the Routhiers, joined us from Montgomery for the first 3 days. We hadn't all been together for 3 years. With another batch of 4 little ones running around it was more wild-but-greatness!
The last picture we have of the 4 of us at dinner was in 2005! And this one was extra special because it was Michelle's birthday.
Papa Don and Lolo arrived and we did what we do in Destin - beach it and eat like kings.
Both girls got VERY comfortable in the water and were jumping in unassisted, dunking, and kicking and paddling with ease.
Natalie even showed off her domino skills with the domino masters.
As usual it was a wonderful and special time at the beach. And we've greatly enjoyed the rest of our travels too but are hoping to slow down a little bit and settle into more of a routine here in Texas. Stay tuned for more of our Lone Star (and beyond) adventures!
