Pitter Patter

The "splat splat" of crawling hands along our floors is slowly becoming less common as we start to add the "pitter patters" of little feet. Natalie takes a few steps from one person to another if you stand her up first and cheer her on. We had a big crowd at the cabin this weekend so there was lots of encouragement and she was busy practicing her walking skills.

Natalie's Week

Natalie has had a very busy week and wanted to share what she's been up to.

First, we've had some wonderful weather so she's played outside. She's not fond of the feel of the grass though.

We've done some chores. She's a big help with the laundry.

And we started a mommy and me swim class at the YMCA. She loves bathtime and routinely dunks her face in the water so I wanted to try a bigger "bathtub." She wasn't quite sure what to think but she's getting used to it and excitedly splashes and plays with the other babies.

We also had a lot of activity at the site of our new house this week. The lot was staked on Wednesday and there was a ground-breaking ceremony yesterday. Pictures to come on those. It's exciting to see our new home beginning to take shape!

Pie Pride

I know it's a dumb thing to be proud of but I made an awesome pie last night. Chris and I had been craving cherry pie and I'd planned to get supplies Thursday but my grocery trip was thwarted by a record half-foot of April snow. I finally made it to the store yesterday and whipped this up last night. I've made a fair number of pies, and pie crusts, but I've never done a lattice pie top. I was so proud of myself and my 1950s-era skills. Who wants to come over for a piece??
