Settling In

We're getting settled into our new place and enjoying it so far. Everyone we've encountered - Michels folks, movers, utility people, new doctor, nurses - have been very nice and we're adjusting to Midwestern life. (Good news for me, I have time to adjust prior to winter. :)) Chris is enjoying his new job and already has lots to work on and lots of respect. That alone is bringing a happy note to our house. A noteworthy part of our move thus far is that Skittle seems eager to make her appearance, as my blood pressure has been high and after a couple of hospital visits, the new doctor has put me on bedrest until she arrives. If anyone is around during the day and wants to chat/email/save Chris from having me do too much online shopping, I'll be here!

Moving Day

This blog is happy to announce that today we are moving to Wisconsin and will be living in or near Appleton. Why "in or near" and how do you move if you're not sure, you ask? Easy. Have movers come pack house. Fly to Wisconsin ahead of movers. House hunt, hope you find somewhere nice, and call movers in-route with new address. Foolproof, right? Why plan too much, really?

Chris wowed the bigwigs at Michels Power and has been hired as the Division Manager of Business Development. He'll coordinate a team of proposal writers who respond to RFPs and serve as the public presentation face to clients. Michels is treating us wonderfully already and everyone is excited for Chris to work in a smaller (sub-400,000 employee) family-owned business. We've loved DC (still do) and will miss our friends here but the beltway takes its toll on everyone eventually and some opportunities are too good to pass up. Erin is excited to live in the land of cheese curds and Skittle is excited to get to play with Grandma more. Midwest living and cheaper housing, here we come!
