Teenage Dot

13! The celebration began early in December as Audrey's outing of choice was an amazing Pentatonix concert. Deschane Family Blog: Almost Teenager

Then last weekend she held a puzzle-themed sleepover and escape room with her friends. They solved the puzzles and unlocked the party favors from the treasure box! Her food choices were a macaroni and cheese bar and chocolate-covered cookie dough balls.

She lucked out with a weekend birthday. We began with Sunday School and then had plenty of time at home for balloons, present hunting, opening, and games.

Dinner was, once again, prosciutto-wrapped lamb burgers with mashed potatoes (that she made herself), carrots, and parsnips.

Then a short outing to Messiah University for Natalie's voice recital (she sang I Could Have Danced All Night).

Finally back home for coconut cream pie and candles!

Thanks to everyone who shared in her month-long celebration. She appreciates all of the kind thoughts and Chris and I appreciate all the good luck wishes as we're now a 2 teenager household - eek! But we think we'll be ok. She too promises not to be a mean, grumpy, or crabby teenager. She's kind, creative, imaginative, musical, intelligent, empathetic, quick-witted, competitive, and gentle. Happy 13th!
